477 og S.G. #2/95, A most remarkable and exhaustive mint collection of New Republic 1886-87 issues consisting of a total of 241 singles that are essentially different, plus eight pairs, six of which are tete-beche pairs, this collection was formed with the intent of acquiring as many different of the dated issues as possible and the collector was amazingly successful as there are 193 dated values including varieties such as inverted arms, etc., the undated issues are virtually complete as well, with numerous additional values with arms inverted or omitted, adding to the further desirability of this collection is its overall condition being clean and attractive, only a few flaws are found which is amazing for a collection of this size and it is in far superior condition to the normal collections that one sees of these, the vast majority being o.g., even a very few used which are quite scarce, fine-very fine; unquestionably the finest and most comprehensive collections of these fascinating issues we have ever had the pleasure to offer, even surpassing the outstanding collection offered in our September 2000 Sale of The Howard & Torie Gibralter Estate; accompanied by five BPA or PF certificates (Scott #1/64). £21,000+
