80 O S.G. #55 imageS. G. #55, 1904 1p Dull purple and scarlet, this single used stamp with fine centering is included in a postal history collection of Virgin Islands because it bears a partial strike of the very rare "Anega(da, V.I.)/18 Jun. (19?)" temporary rubber c.d.s., very fine for this; a later double circle cancel was used from this little-used post office on the Island of Anegada, but no covers are known with this earlier temporary rubber datestamp and there are only three loose stamps known bearing partial strikes, only one of these has a full date of 31 March 1908 giving us the period of this cancel's use; an important rarity for the specialist.
