212 ogbl 113 #113, 2c Brown, the spectacular top right corner partial sheet of 70 (10x7), containing a full imprint and plate "No. 28" block of ten, this being one of just four or five recorded fully intact plate blocks of this value and the only full top example available; with the exception of one, all other known intact plate number blocks are contained within large multiples such as this, but none can compare to the remarkable overall quality of this striking part sheet, as this possesses far better centering than the other large multiples, with many stamps being exceedingly well centered, remarkably fresh overall, with rich luxuriant color and impression, full o.g., some adherence on stamps found largely in the bottom two rows, but the vast majority have pristine o.g. and there are several never hinged stamps found throughout, some hinge reinforcement of separated perforations as is to be expected on such a large multiple, overall very fine; an incredible 1869 showpiece of the highest rarity and beauty; cataloged simply as fifteen blocks of four and ten singles, as the highly important plate block is listed but unpriced in Scott; Chapin census #322; ex-Chapin.
