1268 O RS117ia image#RS117ia, Herrick's Pills, 1c Black, imperforate, horizontal top left corner sheet-margin pair, an exceedingly attractive and sound pair of this rare variety, this variety was unknown until the famous Joyce collection was sold where a new discovery of a full sheet of 30 was offered, theoretically this yields fifteen pairs, but the sheet was affected by horizontal and vertical creases and most examples are faulty to a greater or lesser degree, this is one of the few sound examples for which the catalog value applies, extremely fine.
