Hewitt, Company F 3rd Regiment, N.C. State Troops, Fredericksburg, Va., accompanied by original enclosure on gorgeous matching green patriotic stationery; letter has interesting discussion on local soldiers, skirmishes and the general exuberance that existed in the Confederacy at the end of 1861, "Capt. Moores Artillery has had 2 fights since they have been in South Carolina, they have sunk 2 of old Abes vessels and one was a gun boat at that, Hurrah for the Southern Confederacy.", two nicely sealed small tears, slight reduction right, still very fine; one of the rarest of all Confederate patriotics, whose matching stationery is rarer still, a marvelous grouping that can not be overlooked by the serious Civil War exhibitor or collector.
