1873 O RD232 image#RD232, $2,500.00 Bright green, Series 1946, a handsome used example of this highly important stamp, being one of the rarest of all the Stock Transfer stamps, with perhaps as few as three to four known, extraordinarily well centered and margined, faint trace of a black handstamp cancel, with two pairs of unobtrusive staple holes (as opposed to a cut cancel found on the few existing copies), minor diagonal corner bend of little significance considering its immense rarity, extremely fine for this; a stamp that is on virtually every serious revenue collector's want list; the only other example of this rarity we have ever offered was in our January 2000 sale of the Larry Lyons collection, his example, which had large cut cancels, realized a record $11,000.00, plus the 10% buyer's premium, the Floyd example is the finer of the two; 2000 PF certificate; ex-Cunliffe and Handy.
