1273 og W18B image#W18B, 1c Blue on white horizontally laid paper, star die, die 1, mint cut square measuring 25x53mm, the unique listing example whose appearance at our June 2000 auction of the fabulous Dr. Jerry Summers collection of mint cut squares resulted in the brand new major listing in the 2001 Scott Catalogue as #W18B, previously it had been sold as a paper variety, however its obvious white horizontally laid paper was so different than any of the other previously listed papers that it deserved separate recognition in the Scott Catalogue, fresh, very fine; reportedly there is only one intact wrapper and this cut square known; realized $3,300.00 (including premium) in our June 2000 sale; 1978 PF certificate; ex-White, Sheriff, Norton and Summers.
