602 og 360 image#360, 4c Orange brown on bluish paper, left sheet-margin mint example, brilliantly fresh and crisp, luxuriously rich color and a deeply etched impression, wonderfully well centered, full clean o.g. that has been lightly hinged, extremely fine. An incredibly choice example of this important 20th century rarity, possessing far better centering and overall freshness than the majority of known examples. This value, along with the Eight Cent from the series, were never intended to be issued to the public. Approximately 90 of each were released in an exchange with the Post Office Department in Washington, D.C. to obtain other rarities for the nation's collection.
