III, position 99R2, an incredible quality used example of this rare and highly desirable stamp, possessing margins that are not only huge all around, but they are extraordinarily well balanced as well, lovely "powder" blue color and a very well defined impression which shows enormously wide breaks at both top and bottom, bright paper, extremely fine; a gem example of the rare Type III from position 99R2, which produced the finest and most distinctive example of this type; signed H. III and IIIa combination pair, positions 34-35L4, a magnificent horizontal pair, in a quality unlike any other example of this combination pair that we are aware of, as every aspect of this lovely pair could not be improved upon, with its huge and perfectly proportioned margins all around, gorgeous intensely rich color and a prooflike impression, the impression is so strong and detailed that it shows the design type characteristics quite distinctly, with the rare Type III at left displaying very wide breaks at both top and bottom, while the Type IIIa shows a wide break at top and a complete outer line at bottom, portions of two neat strikes of "Newport, N.Y./Aug. 17" c.d.s., a superb combination pair of incomparable beauty and rarity; it should be noted that the Neinken book identifies position 34 as being a Type IIIa, but as the plate was used the outer line at bottom wore away creating a Type III stamp; 1999 PSE and 2000 PF certificates.
