615 nhbl C3 image#C3, 24c Carmine rose and blue, a brilliantly fresh top left corner complete pane of 100, with full sheet selvages showing left and top arrow markings, as well as both "TOP" imprints and plate nos. 8493, 8492, in a remarkable state of preservation for a sheet of this vintage and value, possessing particularly vibrant colors and being exceptionally well centered throughout much of the sheet, reverse of the sheet is uncommonly clean as well, with far fewer natural gum bends than usual, o.g., n.h., just a few inconsequential perf. separations in left sheet selvage, centering ranges from fine on a very few stamps, to mostly very fine and extremely fine; in our opinion, this #C3 sheet is one of the finest quality sheets that still remains intact. 617 Obl C3 var. image#C3 var., 24c Carmine rose and blue, "landing plane" variety, used block of four whose central vignette is shifted strongly to bottom, so that the plane's wheels touch or cut into the red frame line, while not technically the true "grounded plane" variety (wheels must touch "CENTS" lettering to qualify) this is an impressive shift nonetheless and is quite collectable, central double oval pmk., small faults which do not affect its fine-very fine appearance.
