979 ogOblc Gambia valuable and highly interesting specialized collection of many hundreds, 1869-early 1965, mounted on mostly quadrille pages, the collection begins with an exciting and valuable group of the unwatermarked 1869 and watermarked 1874 Victoria "Cameo" imperforate issues, these stamps alone number over 60 stamps and whose catalog value is in excess of $9,000.00, collected mostly used for their shades and myriad of cancels in both black and red, we even note a couple of pairs and inverted watermark varieties, the perforated 1880-87 "Cameos" are collected in a specialized manner, again mostly used, with cancels, shades and of special note are four covers, one being redirected to India and another to Buenos Aires, from 1902 on the collection is a virtually complete one-of-a-kind used assemblage, augmented with some shades (used stamps of this period are much more difficult to find than mint), condition overall is uncommonly nice, particularly in the classic imperforates, although a few small faults will be found, overall fine-very fine; a perfect collection for the specialist.
