820 O RS184c Image#RS184c, Dr. C.C. Moore, 2c Black on pink paper, exceptionally well centered, beautiful deep colors, for strict accuracy we mention a faint translucent spot in one perforation at right, which in no way detracts from this stamp's gem status.

Of all the Match & Medicine stamps, the 2c C.C. Moore on pink paper is one of the most infrequently offered, in fact this is the first example our firm has offered, despite us selling some of the most comprehensive collections to come to the market in the last fifteen years (Donaldson, Combs, Maurer, Reisner, etc.). The Aldrich census records just seven copies. This example, with its excellent centering and freshness, is considered the finest of that miniscule number.

A major Private Die Proprietary Stamp rarity and certainly one of the highlights of the Frank L. Himpsl collection; ex-Joyce. (Image)
