1088 Oc   Jamaica numeral obliterators impressive collection of thousands of virtually all Queen Victoria used stamps and over 20 covers or cards in mounts on quadrille pages and housed in nine Frank Godden deluxe albums with slipcases, the collection is arranged first in ascending obliterator code order starting with "AO1" and ending with "E" and then within each code by the stamp denomination and watermark issue, with Mr. Mahfood attempting (and often succeeding to get each obliterator on as many different stamps as possible, including some Officials and Postal Fiscals, a few noteworthy items include many inverted watermarks, a cover to the Isle of Wight with 1860 1/- "$" for "S" in "SHILLING" variety tied by "AO1", cover with "A28" on 1872 4d with "Annotto Bay" c.d.s., portion of book wrapper with "A29" tying 1860 1d bisect (BPA certificate), "A37" on 1860 1/- "$" for "S" in "SHILLING" variety, "A40" tying 1860 1d bisect to two separate book wrappers, bold "A44" tying 1860 1/- to cover with "Grange Hill" c.d.s., unrecorded "A52" in blue on 1860 2d with inverted watermark, "A56" on 1860 1/- "$" for "S" in "SHILLING" variety, 1860 6d tied by "A57" to 1862 cover showing rare early use of the 1st November re-allocation of numeral A57 from Montego Bay to Morrant Bay, "A73" on 1/- Postal Fiscal, "A77" on 5/- Postal Fiscal, one of only two known "A79" style H obliterators on 1873 1d, "G15" on 1891 2½d Key Plate, which is unrecorded by Topaz or Nicholson, an unrecorded use of "199" of Guys Hill on 1873 1d Rose Postal Fiscal and the collection ends with examples of "C" and "E" whose location of use remains unknown, the condition is "as it comes" ranging from faulty to very fine; an impressive lifetime achievement which would be an enormous challenge to duplicate; accompanied by a complete inventory of the collection.
