1231 c   San Francisco Earthquake postcards, lot of 40 postcards, all appear to be different, showing various damage caused by the earthquake, some are black & white, some are sepia and some are in color, two show San Francisco before/after rebuilding, all postally used and virtually all mailed in 1906, mostly from the San Francisco area to domestic addresses, but there are two to Italy and one used from Alaska, also of note is a postal card mail from Germany to San Francisco on April 20, 1906, where it received a pencil ms. note "Burned 101 JM", a San Francisco boxed "Advertised" handstamp and various dead letter and return markings, fine-very fine lot. 1234 c   The Adams Nonstop Airmail Pickup System exhibition collection, eight-frame exhibit collection all neatly mounted and written up on the original exhibition pages, tracing the development of Dr. Lytle Adams' system of delivering and retrieving airmail without landing the plane, this is done mainly through first flight covers in the 1929-1949 period, several of which are signed by the pilots, there is also another binder of additional material not part of the exhibit, includes both flights of the Sept. 20, 1934 Experimental pick-up service (AAMC 3D19, 3D19a; only 22 and 12 covers flown, respectively), fine-very fine.
