838 c   Michigan postcard collection consisting of over 1,100 picture postcards in five three-ring binders, includes both Detroit area and out-state towns from the turn of the century to about 1920 but mostly in the early part of this range, one binder is devoted exclusively to Belle Isle, Detroit includes a fascinating array of the many landmarks around the area well documenting the auto industry, we note a number of cards with automobiles, trains and boats plus even a couple of early airplanes and a Zeppelin, outstate cards includes a wide range of towns with interesting scenes, post offices, lighthouses, etc, also includes some actual photograph postcards that are more desirable, a large portion of the cards are used, most with common stamps but with we note a coil single of #412 and two cards with coil singles of #443 and others, condition varies with normal postal wear, overall fine-very fine. 840 F 551/701 #551/701, 1922-1931 Regular issues valuable first day cover holding of many hundreds neatly arranged in three file drawers, with duplication up to about 25 each, but most are in quantities of ten or less, the 1922 Issue goes to the 50c and includes ten 7c values with Niles, Ohio postmarks, many 12c including six from Caldwell, N.J., one each of the scarce 11c, 15c and 50c values, the Perf. 10 issues contain all values from 1½c to 10c, plus coils, and even one example of the rare 2c Booklet pane (#583a), the 1926 Issue is well represented, as is the 1931 11c-50c Issue, with five to thirteen of each value, including seven 17c and six 50c, most of course are Washington, D.C., but there are several from other cities when they come that way, a few cacheted (mainly the generic rubber handstamps), overwhelmingly fine-very fine; an incredible opportunity to obtain a comprehensive stock of this popular first day collecting area; the Scott catalog value is in excess of $65,000.00.
