Dowdeswell in England, franked solely by the photographic vignette of the ship and bears the bold violet "Franz Joseph Land." straight line handstamp across center of cover, privately carried outside of the mails, even the post script in the accompanying letter states "Please preserve stamp of attached/it will be valuable," cover with edge faults and soiling, nevertheless an extremely rare and desirable artifact of the expedition that rescued Nansen.
