C14), partial strike at top right corner of a frail business sized postage due cover to Grapevine, Texas, with long and fascinating original enclosure filled"POSTED AT PITCAIRN ISLAND./NO STAMPS AVAILABLE." violet two line type XI cachet (S.G. #C14), partial strike at top right corner of a frail business sized postage due cover to Grapevine, Texas, with long and fascinating original enclosure filled with many details and Biblical references, sent via the Canal Zone with "Cristobal, C.Z./May 15 1926" duplex overstriking the cachet, then onward to New Orleans where a two line "Postage Due '4' cents/From New Orleans, La." magenta handstamp was applied, upon arrival in Grapevine a vertical strip of four of U.S. 2c postage dues was affixed and cancelled by that town's c.d.s. postmarks, cover faults including some chipping away of edge at top right affecting the cachet, along with two small tape stains, nevertheless this is one of the most unusual commercial covers extant from the Pitcairn Islands from the "No Stamps Available" period, further enhanced by the presence of the original enclosure.
