1280 c   Falkland Island picture post card collection of 51 mint or used multicolored or black and white cards, from the 1905 to 1930's era, a variety of scenes, buildings, penguins, street fronts, etc. depicted, about one-quarter of the cards are used and of these most are franked with Falkland Island adhesives, and a couple with stamps from Chile, many are identified and numbered according to Heyburn's book on post cards, overall mostly fine-very fine; a fascinating and scarce group which gives a pictorial review of these remote islands; lot also includes two small illustrated booklets (circa 1917-20) showing marvelous scenes of the Islands, one entitled "Views of South Georgia/Dependency of the Falkland Islands (wonderful whaling scenes), the other entitled "The Falkland Islands South America" published by Rev. Hobley, which includes informative text in addition to pictures. Est. $500-750
