20802   image1901 Hohe Rinne (Păltiniș) Hotel Post: Austria-Hungary (now Romania) picture postcard of Hermannstadt (Nagyszeben/Sibiu), sent on 23 July 1901 from Hohe Rinne via Keresztnysziget (Cristian) to Vienna, arriving on 25 July 1901. The item is franked with a perforated 2 heller black-on-pink Hotel Post stamp (3rd Issue), together with a 5-filler Turul Hungarian stamp. The hotel stamp covered the fee for transporting mail from the resort to the nearest state post office (Keresztenysziget/Cristian). This is the earliest recorded date of usage of this local stamp. A scarce and attractive item from the Transylvanian Alps/Southern Carpathians, in fine condition. (Image 1) (Image 2)

20803   image1906/1911: Hohe Rinne (Păltiniș) Hotel Post: Austria-Hungary (now Romania), two picture postcards franked with local stamps, one sent on 12/8/1906 to Nagyszeben/Sibiu franked with a 2 heller black on pink (late usage) and the other franked with a 3 heller brown, sent on 5/6/1911 via Nagyszeben/Sibiu (6/6) to Puszta Kalan (Călan, arrival 7/6). Both items have condition issues: the 1906 card is missing the Hungarian stamp on the back and has a vertical crease, while the 1911 card has tone spots and creases. Despite these flaws, this is an uncommon lot with scarce items. (Image 1) (Image 2)

20804   image1911 Măgura Hotel Post of Austria-Hungary (now Romania): fragment bearing a 4 filler green embossed local post stamp perforated 16½ together with a Hungarian Turul 10 filler red stamp cancelled by the Reketó (now Măguri-Răcătău) postal agency marking on 23 October 1911. The fragment is from a cover sent to Székelyudvarhely (now Odorheiu Secuiesc) where it arrived on 27/10.
