imperfections at extreme edges and a faint trace of horizontal bend; extremely fine & with distinguished provenance. Heimbüchler census 316/1. Ex Rotschild (1948), Amundsen (1969 described "truly a 'Connoisseur's' stamp), Tomasini (D.Feldman 2006).

 108 Parale blue on pale pink, a round-cut stamp used at BAKEU, heavily restored with corners added and completed postmark. Only 3 other 108p recorded by Heimbüchler used at Bakeu -this item is illustrated in Supplement volume 3, at page
55, but 'unassigned'. Thins and faults, but of nice appearance of this rare and sought after item. Cert. Renon (1994) that mentions "répare, bel aspect, oblitéré, authentique". (Image 1)

 Pair of 40 parale on bluish paper, large to very large margins, on small piece cancelled by MICHALENI MOLDOVA 6/6 cds in green. This is an extremely rare cancellation, according to Kiriac Dragomir's research, only 492 such stamps were
used at the near border town of Mihaileni, and this postmark should have cancelled stamps only in late 1858 and 1859, being followed by the FRANCO marking. The fragment has a horizontal crease, that doesn't detract from the very fine appearance of

 40 parale blue, featuring the elusive, superbly centered large JASSY MOLDOVA cds in red (M2 type, K. Dragomir fig. 292) dated '10/5.' This 1859 postmark was intended for use on official mail and money sendings, and therefore, it should
