1865 KYDONEAE Consular PO cover with cancel from Kydonae in Asia with boxed "Eplirothi" (Paid) handstamp in blue, previously franked with stamp removed and the paid hs applied in its place, fine and very rare with few known. This
pmk was apparently used in Kydoneae by the Greek consulate office there to mark the prepayment of postage up to Mytilene via Smyrna from where the mail was forwarded to the other destination. A similar cover was sold in the Maximus
