image 1738 Knights of Malta Ramon Despuig 2 silver scudi (24.25g) Gatt #24-2S-10N10, re-struck (15 degree rotation) on a previously poorly struck planchet showing clear seperated doubling on many of the obverse and reverse legends. John Gatt's superb comprehensive census 'Coins Minted by the Knights of Malta 1530-1798' (2018) lists 14 of this type in museums and 34 in private hands (excluding this coin). Known examples are weakly struck, this coin being in above average condition. (Image1)
