Jamaica: Stampless, circa 1790's, "SPANISH TOWN" Double Straight-line (Type T1a) on reverse of a local folded letter, from Kingston to Roaring River, St. Ann Jamaica from a soldier to his wife., bearing manuscript "By Post March 19th" and manuscript rate "7 ½d". The finest and deepest strike we have seen.
Kenya, Uganda & Tanganyika: 1949, King George VI, 50¢ reddish purple & black, perf 13x12½ BLOCK OF FOUR, variety, "Rope not joined to sail" at the lower right copy, n.h. usual gum agingotherwise very fine . (Scott 79 var. SG 144a £350 )
