World War One. 1915-17 Covers to or from B.A Wallis-Wilson who joined the first Ceylon Contingent in 1915 as a private, was later commissioned into the Hampshire Regt. winning an M.C and bar, and was killed leading an attack on 26th September 1917. Five Field Service cards posted to G.B or Ceylon (4, three from Gallipoli, Egypt or Salonica); and a cover franked 5c from Ceylon to Wallis-Wilson with the M.E.F, ½d due mark, various datestamps and cachets, returned with a Colombo R.L.O label. Officials - Ministry of Marine. 1906-07 Mint and used selection on six pages with inland use single frame line set of four used, genuine stamps (and not the later reproductions), the red stamp on piece with boxed "FRANCA" handstamp alongside (illustrated in an article in "Chile Philatelico", just 200 of each stamp issued), double frame line (14, thirteen used including all four colours, just 100 of the green stamp issued, 1,000-3,000 of the other values issued), reprints without control numbers (3); external use stamps with "MARINA / OFICIAL" handstamped overprint and oval Ministry handstamp on reverse (3, also a forgery), "OFICIAL" over Anchor overprints with 1c half overprint printed by the Ministry from the defaced die with explanation by Victor Vargas, issued stamps mint (6) and used (3), and forgeries (25).
