1877 Buffalo Balloon semi-official Airmail 5c deep blue, imperf, with variety 'white dot over E of FIVE'. Fresh UN, expertly repaired with restored LR cnr, superb appearance, 4 margins. SC CL1 cat US$7500. Only 300 printed with only tiny survival rate. Issued for covers carried on the balloon on June 18th, 1877, which travelled from Nashville to Gallatia in Tennessee.
