(various dates) addressed to "Miss ELLEN M. BURR/MIDDLETOWN/CONN." Van Vleck had graduated in 1850 from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut (presumably meeting Miss Burr) and then working as an assistant at the Nautical Almanac Office, which had just opened in Cambridge, from 1851-1853. No correspondence included
