Extensive collection remainders in a carton with a basic collection including BNG to 2/6d used, Large 'Papua' Overprints including 4d x3 & 2/6d x2, Small 'Papua' Overprints including a range of constant varieties, thereafter largely complete simplified mint or used but missing the Pictorials above 1/-, Bicolours 1d Substituted Cliché in pair (RPSL Certificate), 1932 9d & 1/3d with 'SPECIMEN' Overprints (not expertised but they appear to be genuine), 'OS' Overprints to 2/6d, a good range of monogram and imprint blocks, etc, and a strong section of 'Stamp Duty.' Overprints with mint including Monocolour 1d SG F1 corner block of 12 (one thinned), Litho 1d largely complete reconstruction [29 of 30 positions] and curved 'STAMP DUTY' on Bicolours 1d block of 20 (5x4) all these with toning but also SG F1 superb unmounted corner block of 6, Litho 6d x11 (one apparently postally used), Monocolours 6d x2 (one with gum adhesions), quality variable - many unused with no gum - but much is fine to very fine, also a large quantity of duplicates and Hesshaimer BNG ½d facsimile.

Gibbons state simply that the Watermark Vertical Medium to Thick Paper issues are found "line or comb perf". 1907 Small 'Papua.' Overprints Rosettes Watermark Vertical Thin Paper Comb Perf 14 ½d black & yellow-green SG 38 complete sheet of 30 (5x6) with Printers' Guideline Crosses in the margins and White Leaves at Right [Pos 20] & Unshaded Leaves at Left [Pos 28] additionally with the Overprint Progressively Misplaced to Right on the right-hand two columns and the units in the second-from-left & centre columns all with Kiss Prints (or Double Prints SG 38a; £2500 each) ranging from the barely-visible to the clearly-pronounced on [Pos 3, 7, 12, 17 & 23], some perf reinforcing and a few light aging marks, without gum. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2025) states “some stamps with portions of overprint doubled due to a kiss print or shift” but does not expertise it as SG 38a.
Presumably caused by missing or broken positioning pins, which either led to the overprint form 'bouncing' or not being struck properly on the first pass requiring a second strike. All examples of Double Prints we have seen have two almost coincident impressions. In their unpublished work Peter Troy & Jerry Blair note "Few examples known". Sir Gawaine Baillie's 'Double Print' single sold in 2007 for £3450; Peter Troy's single sold in 2008 for $3450 (when catalogued at £2750; it reached £4250 in the 2023 edition, only to be cut back to the current £2500 the following year).
