1851-55 Laureates 1d scarlet, 2d grey-blue, 3d yellow-green, 6d grey-brown & 8d orange-yellow between SG 46 & 80, margins in places, a few minor defects, unused, Cat £34,000+. A presentable group of these rare stamps, and the first time we have seen a complete 'set' offered as one lot.

1854-59 Large Diadems 5d dull green, 6d eight different shades including Greyish Brown & Fawn (a very large stamp but with a horizontal crease) both with Watermark '8' and 1/- x4 shades including Rosy Vermilion with Watermark '8', all with full margins & very fine to superb, a few with dated cancels, Cat £1500+. An exceptional group.

1854-59 Large Diadems 1/- rosy vermilion SG 99 marginal example from the top of the sheet with margins large to huge, faint ironed-out horizontal crease, very fresh unused, Cat £7500. Superb appearance! Ex Lars Amundsen, 'Manwood' and John White. RPSofV Certificate (2020) doesn't mention the crease, presumably because it is so minor.

1856-60 Imperf Small Diadems 3d bluish green SG 116, margins close to large, unused, Cat £1900. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2012) states "extremely rare...superb example".
1860-72 Perf Diadems Perf 12 2d blue Plate II Major Retouches SG 136b [57] Second Retouch (Late State), light Rays cancel largely clear of the affected area, Cat £450. [This is one of the most dramatic retouches in all of Australian philately: the entire field behind the Queen's neck was heavily re-worked & so deeply etched that in this later state it almost looks like the printed stamp has been enhanced by hand!]
1861-88 Five Shillings Coin Perf 13 5/- Royal purple with Prominent Plate Crack at U/R SG 175v, well centred, a couple of short perfs at right, large-part o.g., Cat £850+. A brilliant shade!

1871-1902 Wmk '36' 8d yellow Perf 13 with the Watermark Sideways SG 218a, trimmed perfs at base well clear of the design, Sydney duplex cancel, unpriced by Gibbons. This is a very rare stamp of which only one other example - also used - is recorded. [Absent from Gary Diffen's collection]
1885-86 High Value Revenues Overprinted 'POSTAGE' in Blue Perf 12x10 £1 violet & claret SG 242 two marginal pairs from the right of the sheet presenting as a block of 4, well centred for this issue, full unmounted o.g., Cat £40,000++ for four unused singles. A great rarity, believed to be the only multiples in private hands. Ex Australia Post Archival Sale by Tender Number One (1987) and 'Besancon' III (Nov 2018). Chris Ceremuga Certificate (Sep 2018) for the block of 4. [We note that the 'Besancon' illustration had the upper & lower pairs transposed]

In 1988 Rodney Perry offered by private treaty a largely complete set of 57 of the 65 possible colours all in blocks of 4. Our vendor has confirmed that all those offered here are from that source, as were the "set" of 8 blocks sold for $6900 at the Prestige auction of 24.5.2008. Richard Breckon, writing in 'The Australian Philatelist' of June 1988, referred to the Perry blocks stating "at least one set exists in blocks of 4". We are not aware of any others.

Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2017) states "...only one sheet - or more likely part-sheet - believed printed". [The sheet format was 5 rows of 10]
1888-90 Centennial High Values 20/- Governors selection from the various watermarks, perfs and printings including Perf 10 SG 262 with characteristic rough perfs x2, and several from the 1905-12 Crown/A issue, condition a bit mixed but many are fine to very fine, large-part o.g., Cat £7500 minimum. A most unusual opportunity.

1905-12 Crown/A Chalk-Surfaced Paper Perf 12 20/- Governors ACSC #N76 'CP' Monogram single, excellent centring, the gum a little aged but unmounted. Rare: it is a measure of the rarity of 20/- Monograms that none are listed in the ACSC.
