POSTAL HISTORY: 1916 (April 7) Occupation of the German Colony official long-format envelope (British Coat of Arms on the flap) to Sydney with 'N.W./PACIFIC/ISLANDS' Overprints on Kangaroos 2d grey & 2½d indigo x2 tied by largely very fine strikes of the 'P.O. PLEASANT ISLAND/NAURU' cds cancels with Postmaster's endorsement "Registered/Nauru No.839" in red ink at upper-left, vertical fold clear of the adhesives & markings and some aging marks.
