image 1848 Presidential Medal for, General Zachary Taylor, 24mm diameter, copper, reeded edge, obverse with picture of General Taylor and reads "HERO OF PALO ALTO.RESACA DE LA PALMA.MONTEREY.AND BUENA VISTA/1847/MAJOR-GENERAL ZACHARY TAYLOR". Reverse with U.S. emblem (engle, shield, arrows and olive branch) and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA/1847". This is DeWitt-ZT-1848-21 and was distributed in 1848 when Zachary Taylor was running for U.S. President, which race he won, becoming our 12th President.
