Unrecorded unused or used - with or without the stop - by Ron Butler and the only recorded example so it should be rated RRRRRR. Superb. Ex Baron von Ferrary, Theodore Champion and Philip Croker. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2009) states "great rarity". Absent from both the 'Besancon' and Don Pearce collections. (Image1)

Rated RR; unrecorded unused. The very fine 'Tamiami' and Don Pearce examples sold for $431 (Sale 236 Lot 626) and $299 (Sale 247 Lot 436) respectively. We have offered only one other example, that sold for $670 (Sale 130 Lot 485). [Date range 9.8.1868 to 8.12.1877, suggesting that some Red Overprints remained in stock after the system was discontinued in 1874] (Image1)
