image 1921 Abolition of Slavery 6d red & dull blue-green Multiple Crown CA Watermark overprinted 'SPECIMEN' Vertically Reading Upwards SG 90s, unusually well-centred, small hinge remainder, Cat £1200. For political reasons, the stamps were not issued and were destroyed. However, Specimen overprints had been distributed to the UPU in the normal way. Only one example without the overprint exists in private hands. (Image1)

image 1938-52 KGVI Pictorials 5/- Isle of Wood and Water Single Line Perf 14 SG 132a, well-centred, lightly mounted, Cat £7000, for unmounted. A superb example of this major Commonwealth rarity of the reign of KGVI. Ex 'Dubois' (Hugh Wood) Part II: sold for £2880. In December 1940, De La Rue's printing works were destroyed by German bombing during the Blitz. The surviving stock of unperforated stamps was sent to Watford for perforating. A few sheets only of the 5/- were processed using an old single-line perforator. It is believed that only about 12 mint examples have been recorded. Graham Cooper's marginal example with Plate Number '1', also mounted, sold in 2016 for £2520. (Image1)
