BLACK OVERPRINT: 'I.S.' on QV De La Rue Crown/SA Wmk Rouletted 2d pale orange SG DO283 from the lower-right of the sheet with the Watermark Reversed & 95% of an 'S' from the marginal sheet watermark, rouletting at top & base and cut from the sheet well clear of the design at the sides, unused, Cat £1500. Unlisted unused by Ron Butler and we know of only two other examples so it should be rated RRRRR. Ex Baron von Ferrary, Theodore Champion and Philip Croker. Chris Ceremuga Certificate (2009) states "extremely rare". The 'Besancon' mint but creased example - with 'T' from the marginal sheet watermark, so almost certainly the stamp adjoining this example to the right - sold for SFr1330.
