1917 Haitien POW camp (14 May) to Nanking POW camp. WWI POW picture postcard from the crew of SMS Vaterland, applied with oval Haitien POW camp censor mark in violet and Peking origin cds. Arrived Nanking (16 May). SMS Vaterland was taken over by Chinese Navy since China declared war to Germany.
1904 Port Arthur (Jul) to St. Petersbug, detained during war, f.w. Coat of Arms 7k on reverse, tied by Port Arthur Russian PO type 2g cds. Detained by Japanese and sent to Russian Mission in Japan and redirected to Russia. Arrived St. Petersburg (11 Nov). Very rare detained example during Russo-Japanese War.
1896 Germany (12 Oct) to German legation in Peking via San Francisco. German 10pf PSC, tied by Hannover cds. Transit New York (24 Oct) with PAID ALL h.s., San Francisco (29 Oct), Customs Tientsin (9 Dec) with cds in violet. Scarce and peculiar.
