image MOROCCO: 1911 (May 23) large envelope slightly reduced at top to 282x170mm endorsed "Valeur declare: Deux mille Francs (2000 francs)" from a Jewish merchant with five 'MA LEVY/TANGER' wax seals across the flaps, to Germany with scarce franking of 'Marokko/30 Centimos' on 25pf, '.../60 Centimos' on 50pf & '.../1 Peseta' on 80pf tied by 'TANGER/(MAROKKO)/ a /DEUTSCHE POST' cds, the reverse with Spanish-pattern 'VALORES DECLARADOS/24MAY11/TANGER' & similar '.../ALGECIRAS' cds of the same date and very fine 'WILMERSDORF/29.5.11/...' arrival cds, the linen lining removed & the cover professionally cleaned with only minor staining now present. image MOROCCO: 1911 (Aug 30) cover with 'Kaiserlich/Deutsche Gesandschaft/Marocco' (= Royal German Mission) imprint on the flap partly obscured by similarly inscribed wax seal, to Saxony with 5c on 5pf x2 & 10c on 10pf x4 tied by Tanger cds, red & black/white 'Tanger/(Marokko).' R label, 'DRESDEN/5.9.11/...' arrival backstamp, forwarded to Stresa (Italy) via Milan and then to "Miramare/Palazzo Imperiale Reale" ( = Miramare Imperial & Royal Palace) with light but clear Austrian-pattern 'HOFPOSTAMT MIRAMAR/10/9/11' arrival backstamp, minor creasing from the bulky contents. Miramare Palace, situated 14km SE of Trieste, was built for Austrian Archduke Ferdinand Maximilian, later the ill-fated Emperor of Mexico. (Image1)

DEUTSCHE/POSTAGENTUR' cds cancel, three different Stockholm transit and arrival markings including '.../K.E./22/8/1891' "thimble" backstamp & '.../C.2' dotted-ring cds on the face where re-directed to Tiringe, a couple of very minor transmission marks.
