1853 'EMPIRE FRANCE' Napoleon III 1fr carmine Mi 17a, margins good to large, multiple guarantee handstamps, unused, Cat €6500. A handsome example of this popular stamp.

1871 Unissued Surcharge '10' in Blue on Napoleon III 10c bistre SG 133 (not listed in Michel), well centred, large-part o.g., two guarantee handstamps, Cat £3000.
REVENUES: Two albums with an array of mostly pre-World War II issues with heavy duplication in places, some unusual & high denominations, the odd multiple & a handful of usages on piece, lots of interest in the mercantile cachets & other cancellations, condition rather mixed but much is fine to very fine.

POSTAL HISTORY: 1920 (Aug 25) to Australia endorsed "Air mail by London" with 'GUYNEMER' pictorial airmail etiquette on face and Sower 25c & Merson 60c x5 affixed on back all tied by 'PARIS/25-8/20/R DE LA BOETIE' cds, Sydney machine cancel arrival b/s (date indistinct), two stamps faulty, some aging marks & repaired tears. Foreign letter rate 1fr25c + 2fr airmail surcharge for carriage by plane to London and onwards by P&O steamer 'Malwa' to Australia. This is the earliest confirmed commercial accelerated-airmail item to Australia from anywhere in the world. Ex Rodney Perry.
LAOS: 1952 Anniversary booklet SG MS21b with 26 different one-stamp panes, wax interleaving with no adhesion or toning, very fine & scarce in this condition, Cat £550.
MOROCCO: 1928 (Sept 20) Official cover registered air to Australia at 4fr25c rate, repaired tear at U/R and excised return address covered by white label on back. The rate was 1fr50 foreign letter + 1fr25c airmail surcharge + 1fr50c registration, unusually with no transit markings.
NEW CALEDONIA: 1965-80 selection mostly unmounted including 1966 Satellite gutter pairs plus label x10 in two marginal blocks and 1976 Concorde 147fr sheetlet of 10, stated Cat £600+.

SENEGAL: 1942 Compagnie du Niger Francaise cover (270x176mm) by air to France at remarkable 86fr50c rate with Pictorials 50c 1fr & 5fr x17 (including block of 9) tied by 'DAKAR' cds, 'CONTROLE POSTAL' censor label tied by 'OUVER ...' oval cachet and circular 'A/2' h/s, a few edge faults and the 1fr & one 5fr are damaged.
