STAMP ORDER CARDS AND REMBOURSEMENTS (COD) SERVICE: The order cards (c.1942-1956) were issued in return for a fee to stamp dealers and collectors who wished to order a years subscription in advance. This study contains cards representing all the rates and card types with fees ranging from 50 to 500 Fr. It includes the use of 100f Marianne de Gandon and a pair of 50f Marianne de Dulac. Oval censor Republican handstamp on the rear and endorsed 'to be returned to the sender'. France declared war on Great Britain six weeks prior and this an early example of 'service suspended' mail and important exhibition item thus.
