1921-1932 3c slate-grey, variety watermark sideways, block of four from lower right corner of upper right pane, with part inter-pane margin at foot, unmounted with full original gum; an extremely attractive block that leaves the watermark variety clearly visible in the right margin from the front, with some toning to gum, (SG £1700 for single stamp): mounted on SG stock card with the note "a major keyplate variety. We have handled no other examples (even singles) in the past 30 years, and no other block is known to us."; cert. BPA (2011). (Image)

1857-1935 extensive mint collection on stock sheets with 30 or so Chalons (mixed condition, mostly unused), incl. 1857 2d (3) and 10d (3), 1861 incl. 2 x 3d, 5d and 2/-, 1863 5d (both shades) and 9d, various 1867 to 1/- etc. A useful mint range follows, with 1872 CC incl. 48c to 96c, surcharges incl. SG 156 and 158 with numerous 1888 varieties incl. SG 204a-c, 205c, 208a and 209b, then 1899, 1904 and 1910 sets. 1912 to 10r with shades and dies (both 10r), 1927 to 20r and 1935 Jubilee with 6c SG 379g, 9c SG 380h, 20c SG 381f and 50c SG 382h varieties. Also noted, the difficult 1869 Officials 2d (2), 6d, 9d (2), 1/- and 2/-, the 1895 (ex 3c) and 1903 sets. A very useful and comprehensive lot. (S.G.
