Addressed to New Concord, NY, the cover is opened roughly at right with some foxing. The Clip, TX Post Office was established March 8, 1898 and discontinued July 15, 1898 (so this is a Last Day cover), which was only three months and one week. Clip was between Goliad, TX and Berclair, TX in Goliad County. A very scarce "Dead Post Office" (DPO) cover. Contains a letter to his wife in which he mentions he will be taking the mail to Goliad
