Return back to an era when each ethnic neighborhood in American cities had an abundance of stamp stores. This “Osika” selection originally came from a Polish neighborhood in Chicago where the owner purchased “new issues” directly from the Crown Agents in Great Britain and each available British colony from 1939-1955 having an interruption from 1941-45 because of WW II. Many of the covers still have their original receipts inside. This accumulation was in storage for decades until discovered. Consists of three cartons from the Golden Flyer Estate Part II, containing over 350 commercial covers of varying sizes nicely organized by areas of Asia, Africa, Oceania, Caribbean, and Islands in seventeen binders or art display albums. Many of the covers have period usages of Peace, UPU, and Silver Wedding Omnibus issues. A variety of colonies are represented. Spotted Hong Kong, Malaya, Falkland Islands, Pakistan, Aden, Southwest Africa, South Africa, Mauritius, Zanzibar, St. Helena, Brunei, North Borneo, Sarawak, Australia, and New Zealand to name just a few. Since these covers went through the postal system, conditions will vary from disheveled to excellent condition. Check out the copious scans. Unique opportunity to own a slice of philatelic history.
