1917-20 'WAR STAMP' Overprints on KGV Keyplates '1½d' Type 16 (Thin '1') on 2½d blue SG 55, well-centred, a couple of slightly uneven perfs at base, a little light gum tropicalisation, very lightly mounted, Cat £800. BPA Certificate (2010). Because this surcharge did not adequately obliterate the original face value, De La Rue replaced it with Type 17 (Thick '1') after only a few sheets had been overprinted.
