1902 JM (Paris) Undivided Back artist card 'CHINE/LA COIFFURE/DE L'ANTIQUITE/A NOS JOURS' by Paul Dufresne being a series of hairstyles for fashionable women plus three dudes for good measure, unused. A really beautiful card.
1904 Alterocca Undivided Back artist card 'The Emperor of China gives andience [sic; for 'audience'] to the Foreign Ministers, soiled on the reverse, to GB with Hong Kong 4c tied by British PO in 'SHANGHAI' cds. An evocative image of both European imperialism & obsequiousness.
1904 A Faugeron Undivided Back of '...Pao-Ki, Ministre/plenipotentiaire de l'Emperor de Chine' in his magnificent robes, from Paris to Chile "Via Lisbonne-Magellan" (Straits), small corner crease. A terrific portrait of power, and a fine usage to an unusual destination.
