China-Japanese Occupation of North China-Nanking & Shanghai 1944 folded 19 Oct local Shanghai cover, somewhat roughly opened at top, bearing 50c on 5c & $1 on 8c SYS & 3 x 50c 4th Anniv Nanking Government. Sent by a British internee from the Civilian Internment Centre in Lunghwa. Scarce & also bears a red Chinese [Jirun powder?] cachet. SG 22, 24 & 114.
Japan 1903 env front ex GB with ½d & 2 x 1d EVII canc Stranorlar cds 8 NO 03, addressed to passenger on board German liner "Kiautschou" c/o shipping agent at Naples, Italy. Readdressed to Yokohama, Japan. Charged postage due (large m/s "5" & other notations). With Japanese script cds & 2 diff rice paper slips (attached to front at 1 side). Also with good h/s "UNDELIVERABLE". We have seen nothing like this previously!
