POSTAL HISTORY: 1938 (Apr 6) long OHMS cover with very fine strike of the 46mm 'QUARANTINE STATION/6APR1938/KAMARAN' cachet in violet & signed "MBenjamin", to London with Dhows ½a block of 4 (on the reverse) & 1a tied by Indian-pattern 'KAMARAN/7APR38' cds, large-part boxed Empire Air Mail Scheme boxed cachet on the reverse applied on arrival, two vertical folds clear of the stamps. The addressee, W&E Moore Ltd, was a firm of engineers. Kamaran is a low-lying island in the Red Sea, close to what is now the Yemeni coast. (Image1)

We have not previously seen the two American markings and Doctor Google states "There were no US Forces stationed in Aden during WWII".
