MELBOURNE/4' cds with 'SHIP MAIL ROOM' d/s alongside, couple of very minor blemishes. While the 6d Airmail 'OS' overprint was placed on sale to the public, the 2d Bridge 'OS' was not; given the item was handed in over the Post Office counter, it most likely represents an 'unauthorised' use by an official on non-official mail rather than a completely 'illegal' use by a member of the public.
1933 usage of KGV Oval 2d red envelope stamped-to-order (Die I; ACSC #ES72) for Small & Shattell, Manufacturers of Bread, Biscuit & Confectionery Machinery with background illustation of a Bun Divider in orange, sent airmail back to the firm in Melbourne with Kookaburra 6d added tied Perth, WA machine cancel to pay double 3d per ½oz airmail surcharge, minor edge faults. [The rates for posting are printed at left, including 6d to Empire destinations or 11d to foreign parts. However, according to Breckon, the rate to Empire was 1d per 4oz & to foreign was 1d per 2oz, which is inconsistent with the rates on the wrapper]

[The rate was 2/1d for the first ½oz & 2/- for the second ½oz]

1937 (7 July) usage of KGV Oval 5d Registration Envelope with KGV 5d & 1/6d Hermes tied by Perth cds, blue/white R label, to Holland endorsed "[By air]/Australia/France/Holland", strangely with no transit or arrival b/s. [Permit Mail allowed for printed circulars to be sent in sealed envelopes at the 1d second class rate plus ½d fee; the combined rate was still less than the 2d letter rate; users had to obtain a permit and quote their 'PB' number on mailings]
1938 (May 30) cover to Switzerland with KGVI 3d blue Die II x4 + Airmail 3d green x4 (one with surface abrasion) tied by the recut 'SURRY HILLS/NSW' cds, blue/white R label, light vertical fold between the stamps, very fine 'INNERAROSA' arrival cds of 10.VI.38. Very scarce & appealing makeup of the 1/9d rate + 3d registration. [Innerarosa is a popular skiing resort in the Swiss Alps. In 1894, the author & adventurer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, pioneered the sport in the area when he down-hilled into Arosa on Norwegian 'skiing boards']
