Cat No: 2(B)d x7
1d red duplicated selection of obvious varieties 'ROSTAGE' ACSC #2(B)d x7, Island SW of Tasmania ('Two Tasmanias') #3(E)d x8, Dot before 'POSTAGE' #3(E)f x23 including two in pairs, Island off Yorke Peninsula #3(F)h x20, Cut Throat on Roo #4(G)j x14 including in a pair, Ferry Wake NE from Cairns #4(K)f x13, Value Circle Broken at Base #4(K)h x9 and apparently unlisted Island Before 'AUSTRALIA' & Damaged Top of 'T' of 'AUSTRALIA' x26 and Island off Cape Leeuwin x10, many cancelled clear of the varieties, condition a bit mixed, Cat $8000 + the two unlisted varieties. An outstanding opportunity for the serious student.
(Qty 150+)
½d green to 6d ultramarine (U/R unit with unlisted Frame Break Opposite Brisbane; characteristic rough perfs) complete blocks of 4, above average centring, the lower units are unmounted, Cat $10,000+. [The 6d block is Ex Dr Leslie Abramovich]
(Qty 8 blocks)
9d violet marginal block of 4 from the base of the upper pane, unusually well centred for this denomination, a few nibbled perfs at U/L otherwise superb unmounted, Cat $4000+. A rare multiple, especially of this quality.
5/- grey & chrome with the Kangaroo Slightly Misplaced into the Bight, lightly mounted, Cat $900+. [Not as dramatic as the listed Misplaced Kangaroo variety]
£2 black & rose ACSC #55A (SG 16), exceptional centring, neat WA cds clear of the Kangaroo, Cat $6000 (£4000). Superb!: possibly the finest used example we have seen of this iconic stamp. [Postally used examples are much scarcer than mint or CTO stamps. And most used examples, because they were affixed to heavy parcels, are damaged]
PUNCTURED LARGE 'OS': 10/- grey & pink ACSC #47Ab (SG O13), excellent centring, lightly mounted, Cat $10,000 (£6000). A lovely example of this rare stamp.
PUNCTURED SMALL 'OS': ½d, 1d Dies I II & IIA, 2d to 1/- plus 4d yellow-orange (short perfs & unused) & 5/- with forged 'OS', variable centring, the 9d is unmounted, Cat $6000+ (£2500+) plus the 4d shade & the 5/-. [The ACSC states that the 5/- was not issued punctured Small 'OS' & that existing examples are "presumed to be fakes"]
(Qty 14)
PUNCTURED SMALL 'OS': 9d violet ACSC #24Abb block of 4, well centred, two light bends across the lower units, unmounted, Cat $6000+ as singles. A rare multiple.
PUNCTURED 'OS/NSW': 2/- brown to £2 grey-black & rose-carmine, well centred, the £1 with a faint stain & one pulled perf, the £2 with a trivial blemish at the base, large-part o.g. Separate Chris Ceremuga Certificates except for the 2/- each stating that the punctures are forged. [This begs the question: "Why would anyone do that to valuable stamps priced at $20,000 as normals?"] (5)
