1941: Two postcards from the same correspondence from 'Shanghai' to 'Vienna', one dated 13. May 1941, the second 24. Sep.1941. Due to the outbreak of war between Germany and Russia the second card could not be forwarded via Siberia but was despatched via the Dutch Indies. The item was held there and following the Japanese Occupation, it was released and forwarded. Remarkable that it was transported at all, as but the Wehrmacht censor proves that it reached Germany despite of the difficult circumstances. According to the recipients endorsement the item was in transit for eight month. Historically a most interesting lot. (Image 1)(Image)
