1840 1d Black Queen Victoria Imperforate, a group of 14 used singles, with about half and half red or black Maltese Cross cancels, unchecked for plating. Most have three margins, with a few small faults, otherwise a fine group. (Image)
1840 1d Grey Black Queen Victoria Imperforate, a lovely used example, with four large to well clear margins, tied to a small piece by a bright red Maltese Cross cancel, alongside a TAMFORD datestamp, also in red, dated JUL.21.184_. There is a pencil notation on back denoting this is from plate 1a. The stamp shows plate wear, especially in the background design around the Queen's head, very fine. (Image)
