Europe, 1850's-1930's, specialist's collection of mint and used, a few thousand stamps, hinged or in mounts on blank pages, including issued stamps and some carefully annotated forgeries, carefully collected over many years by a serious philatelist. Areas include Scandinavia (Denmark, Danish West Indies, a bit of Greenland, plus Finland and Iceland), Russian Area (Russian Empire and U.S.S.R, Civil War issues, Offices Abroad and breakaway republics of the 1920's), and Eastern Europe (Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro and Romania). Best is probably Imperial Russia including #2 and #3 (unused without gum), extensive Coat of Arms definitives, Romanov Centenary and some airmails. A small sampling has been imaged. Shipping weight 11.5 lbs / 5.25 kilos,
Greece, 1861-1988, extensive mint and used collection, in mounts in a Scott album. Includes numerous Hermes heads (constituting about half of the total catalog value), scattered mint and used issues to 1960, then nearly complete mint for 1960 to 1980, plus semi-postals, airmail and other back-of-the-book, Occupations, Epirus and Crete. Issues to about 1960 are mostly used or mint hinged, with some complete sets, some partial; issues from 1960 appear to be all NH. In relatively good condition overall with only a few faults noted, even the Hermes heads are mostly 4 margins. No great rarities but a nice basic collector's collection. A small sampling has been imaged. Shipping weight 6 lbs / 2.7 kilos. View a PDF of images for this lot Scott approximately $7,000 Suggested Bid $600-800 (Image)
