1948-49, Philatelic Exposition Labels, officially prepared non-franking labels prepared for 1944 IMABA Exposition in Basel, the 1949 CITEX in Paris and BIPITEC in Brussels; the IMABA labels comprise three normal mint singles plus two with oblique perfs, each at a different angle. The CITEX and BIPITEC labels each consist of three of the normal, imperf-between blocks of 4, two of the same with oblique perfs (each at a different angle) and six different imperf trial color blocks of 4; all clean and Very Fine, never hinged except, unfortunately, the imperf trial color blocks, which have become stuck together, a few of them showing slight damage from attempted separation. Still a desirable, rarely seen group.
According to K. Beleski, only one sheet of 16 blocks of 4 was produced of the oblique perfs and the color trials for the two 1949 events, while only 25 each of the different 1948 oblique Pernambuco varieties.(Image)
